Jessica Simpson stopped by the “Ellen” Show in an episode set to air Wednesday where she talked all about her surprise second pregnancy. Of course, in true Jessica fashion, the “Fashion Star” mentor had to reveal a few TMI details of her private life.
“Apparently protection was just thrown out the window,” the expectant mother told host Ellen DeGeneres about baby number two. “We’re happy. We were definitely extremely shocked.”
Simpson gave birth to daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson in May 2011.
The 32-year-old went on to talk about how Maxwell was hers and fiancé Eric Johnson’s focus, then all of a sudden, “I was puking and lying on the couch.”
“This pregnancy is the complete opposite,” Simpson explained. “Like with Maxwell, I felt amazing. Like I could do everything, eat everything. Do whatever I wanted. I had a lot of energy. This time around … I’m like exhausted. Eating Tums. That’s my snack of choice.”
Simpson was a Weight Watchers spokeswoman after giving birth the first time around, and she said she learned a lot from the program.
“The first pregnancy I like let loose and I kind of ate everything that I wanted to eat and I just really enjoyed it,” she said. “This time around I think because I was doing Weight Watchers and I felt super healthy, I’m not really craving as much and I know how hard it is to get off so I’m trying to make healthier, wiser decisions.”
The fashion mogul joked that she can “gain as much weight” as she wants because she has a “husband that loves me.”
Clearly that’s true -- just look at her growing belly! But Simpson jokes she hopes the pregnancies stop at baby number two.
“I think originally I had wanted three [kids] and now that I have one and another one on the way I feel like I could stop here,” she told Ryan Seacrest on Wednesday for his KIIS-FM radio show, adding, “accidents do happen [though]!”
