The day after nabbing the Oscar for Best Actress, one would expect Jennifer Lawrence to sit around accepting flower deliveries, taking phone calls of congratulations, and recounting how amazing it was being the toast of Hollywood – when even Jack Nicholson seeks you out to tell you you’re swell.
But that’s not how J-Law rolls.
The 22-year-old actually spent her Monday getting a work-necessitated makeover. She was photographed ducking out of Rossano Ferretti salon in Beverly Hills, California, after having her golden blond locks dyed a darker brown – almost black – hue.
Of course, the new shade is Katniss Everdeen’s color. The actress, who plays the heroine in “The Hunger Games” movie franchise, is Hawaii-bound to do nine days of reshoots for the second installment, “Catching Fire.”
Late last year, Lawrence was in the Aloha State to film “Catching Fire” alongside co-star Josh Hutcherson, who plays Peeta. And, even though she was filming at a beautiful beach, it was tough work. Donning a wetsuit, she dove into the water, take after take. She also filmed some battle scenes, working her signature bow and arrow.
But Sunday night was all glamour for the actress, who collected her first Oscar for her role in “Silver Linings Playbook.” Dressed in a pale pink Dior Haute Couture dress – which was to blame for her tumble on the way to the stage – she had her golden locks in an updo.
Talking about getting ready for her big night, Lawrence revealed that she tried on the dress for the first time the morning of the ceremony and, luckily, it looked perfect on her.
"I just woke up and tried on the dress, and it fit, thank God!" she said backstage after her win. "Then I took a shower – that's what I did. And I got my hair and makeup done. And then I came to the Oscars."
Because, again, that’s how J.Law rolls.
