Jennifer Garner Has No Hard Feelings Towards Ben Affleck Over His Oscars Acceptance Speech

The speech Ben Affleck gave when he accepted this year’s Oscar for Best Picture ended up making more headlines than the honor itself.

If you don't recall, while thanking wife Jennifer Garner, he referred to their marriage as “work.”

"I want to thank you for working on our marriage for 10 Christmases," the “Argo” director said while looking at his wife in the audience. "It’s good. It is work but the best kind of work and there’s no one I’d rather work with."

Days later, tabloids had a field day reporting that Garner and Affleck were on the verge of divorcing.

In a new interview, Garner reveals that she even had friends who questioned if their relationship was on the rocks after her husband’s thank you.

"I know," the 40-year-old told The Telegraph, amazed. "I had a friend call and say, 'Are you OK?”

But worry not! Garner continued: "I know Ben, I knew he meant it as the hugest, warmest compliment in the world. I think he was saying, 'Look, what we have is really real and I value it above all and I’m in it with you and I know you are in it with me.' That’s the way I took it."

The former “Alias” star even said she felt sorry her husband's speech took away from such a joyful moment.

"Poor guy," Garner said about the absurdity of it all. "It’s so horrible to put yourself out there – he didn’t have to worry about it from my point of view."

Happy wife, happy life!
