Inside LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian’s New 2-Acre Estate

LeAnn Rimes may have plenty of stress in her life lately, what with her ongoing battle with hubby Eddie Cibrian’s ex Brandi Glanville, with unfriendly Twitter followers, and even with her dentist, whom she recently sued for malpractice. But the 30-year-old singer now has a new peaceful place where she can retreat from all that strife: The $3 million home she and Cibrian, 39, recently bought in the swanky L.A. enclave of Hidden Hills.

The house is certainly away from it all. The 6-bedroom, 9-bath abode sits on just over two acres of land in the gated community, which has less than 2,000 residents and is located near a 3,000-acre open space preserve. The 8,642-square-foot Spanish style house includes a kitchen with commercial-grade stainless appliances, beamed ceilings, pool and hot tub, outdoor dining room with TV and fireplace, separate guest house, and four-car garage.

But for us real estate fanatics, the best part of Mr. and Mrs. Cibrian’s place is the deal they got. The home was last purchased by the previous owners in the fall of 2006 – a year considered to be the height of the housing boom – for a whopping $5.575 million. It was then listed for sale in December 2009 for $6.195 million and was taken on and off the market over the next three years, during which the property went through multiple price reductions (as the market plummeted), ending in a short sale listed for $3.5 million in June of last year. Six months later, the famous couple officially purchased the property for $3 million, nearly half of what the last buyers paid for it six years ago.

Do they really need all that space? Well, Eddie and LeAnn will use one of the bedrooms, Cibrian’s two sons will use another two, and they’ll probably make another one (or two!) into a nursery sometime soon. But what about the guest house? Perhaps it can be used for overnight visits from the former Mrs. Cibrian if she ever forgives the songstress for stealing her husband?

Actually, it may end up just sitting empty.
