Every once in a while, celebs need to take a break from posing for pics and signing autographs. Such was the case with Ian Somerhalder and his new bride, Nikki Reed, on Thursday.

The newlyweds were exiting their hotel in Paris, France, when The Vampire Diaries star came out to tell awaiting fans he wouldn't be taking photos that day. However, one still managed to take a video. And though the clip uploaded to YouTube is labeled, "Ian Somerhalder being rude to fans," that couldn't be farther from the truth.

"Hey guys, listen," the 36-year-old actor began when people started snapping pics. "No, no, stop. Everybody, listen. I love you guys. I’m not taking a single photo today. It’s my day. Don’t follow us, please. I love you guys. You're so good to us. You're so awesome."

When a fan interjected, asking for "just one" photo, Somerhalder turned and said, "It's not just one..." He then touched her on the shoulder, "Hey, I'm right here," encouraging the girl to just try and enjoy the moment.

In the video, you can hear one girl start to cry.

"Don't follow us, please," he begged again. "I love you guys, just don't follow us, OK? It's too much." Ian then calls for his "sweetie" Nikki and they hop in an awaiting car.

All in all that was a very polite and nice way to approach a big crowd of fans. Seriously, most actors are not that courteous. Isn't it cool that Somerhalder took the time to talk to everyone instead of running by and ignoring them? Not everyone seems to agree.

Cheer up, Vampire Diaries fans. It's really not that bad.
