Hollywood’s Latest Pixie: Jennifer Lawrence Chops Off Her Long Locks
Every revolution begins with … a dramatic haircut.
With weeks to go before the premiere of "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," Jennifer Lawrence is sporting a bold new pixie cut!
She posted a photo of herself with the edgy 'do on Facebook Wednesday. The snapshot showed the 23-year-old on the go in a private airplane, wearing a white top with a black blazer. Her hair, which she recently dyed blond again after going brunette to play Katniss Everdeen, is super short and frames her face with long sideswept bangs.
A second pic taken later and shared on Twitter showed off a side angle of the cropped look.
While we've seen a run of pixie cuts lately — including Pamela Anderson, Kristin Chenoweth, Jennifer Hudson, and Charlize Theron (who grew out her shaved head look into the trendy style) — J.Law's is definitely more bodacious than the others. The back appears fuller and the front features some long, layered pieces.
Expect to see more photos of Lawrence's cut as her media blitz for "Catching Fire" gets underway. In the Facebook photo, she noted that she was, "Headed up north for #GLOBALFANDAY with 'The Hunger Games Catching Fire' cast" and told her fans to "follow this page all day for updates."
One of those stops today is actually at Yahoo headquarters in Sunnyvale, California. The Oscar winner and "Hunger Games" director Francis Lawrence will be chatting with CEO Marissa Mayer and taking questions from employees.
And she'll be hitting the red carpet soon enough for the premiere of "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," which will hit theaters Nov. 22 and take her around the globe while she promotes the flick.
