Gwyneth Paltrow and her not-so-secret paramour, Glee producer Brad Falchuk, stepped out on Saturday to celebrate Robert Downey Jr.'s 50th birthday, and their public appearance together made them the talk of the star-studded bash. And given the roster of A-listers who attended the party, it was a pretty big deal that Gwyneth took him as her date. Things must be getting serious!
Let's start at the beginning with the pair's arrival.
The two pulled up to the party in a white Range Rover. The 42-year-old actress appeared to have been in the driver's seat. (We're not suggesting that's a metaphor or anything.) Brad, 44, escorted Gwyneth into the shindig and had his arm around her waist. If that doesn't say "official" and "chivalrous gentleman on board," then please, tell us what does.
The important thing to note is that Gwyneth and Brad have been rumored to have been dating for months, with frequent reports stating they were a secret item, but yet nary a photo of the two together. So for the most part, the lovebirds have been keeping their romance on the D.L. Meanwhile, the tabloids have been having a field day with Gwynnie's ex from whom she consciously uncoupled last year, Chris Martin, and his lady friend, Jennifer Lawrence. Judging by the pics, it looks like Paltrow is definitely not crying over the Coldplay frontman's new romance.
As for the bash itself, let's just say it was far from average. Held at The Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, guests confirmed that it was a fiesta to remember. A source told People that "it was the best party. Star-studded, of course, but at the same time, it felt very intimate. Everyone seemed friendly and hugged each other left and right." Soo... it sounds like it was the perfect place for Paltrow and Falchuk to go public with their relationship!
After all, in addition to the man of the hour, we're talkin' about the presence of some pretty big stars, like Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux.
Katie Holmes, Gwen Stefani, and Gavin Rossdale (detectable by his grade-A man bun) also scored invites.
Tobey Maguire and his wife, Jennifer Meyer, were there, too. And yep, so was Ed Norton!
And if that's not enough to get your celeb-lovin' heart pumping, then look no further than this pic of Reese Witherspoon, Jack Osbourne, his wife, Lisa Stelly, and Rosanna Arquette, all gearing up to celebrate Robert Downey Jr.'s 50th.
Jason Bateman and Orlando Bloom (pictured here with Theroux) also were on hand for the festivities.
And since us average folks weren't invited to RDJ's big bash, we can at least live vicariously through pics — like this one below. Can't you just imagine Robert, Gwyn, Brad, and their famous friends getting their party on in this room?
Bottom line? Robert Downey Jr. sure knows everyone... which means everyone now knows about Gwyneth and Brad.
