In case you haven't noticed — and that's unlikely — there's a new player in the fashion world and her name's more than a little familiar.
Kendall Jenner, the 18-year-old younger sister of Kim Kardashian, has made such a splash in the modeling world this year that she's now wearing the same glam garment as stylish rocker Gwen Stefani, 45. Although, Jenner wore them first, opting for the designer pants as she left one of her recent gigs, the Marc Jacobs presentation during New York Fashion Week on Sept. 11. The "Hollaback Girl" artist wore it more than two weeks later when she appeared in NYC's Times Square on Sept. 26 to promote No Doubt's performance at the upcoming Rock and Rio concert.
What they wore: Both ladies slipped on the cropped black-and-white coated pant from 7 For All Mankind. The $235 item, available only on the brand's website, looks a lot like leather but is actually made of cotton, nylon, and spandex.
How they styled it: Stefani teamed the pants, which fit her longer than the statuesque Jenner, with a black bra and long-sleeved, sheer black top. She also wore classic black stilettos from Christian Louboutin and her signature retro hair and makeup. Taking a more casual approach to the pants, Jenner wore them with a white T-shirt and a motorcycle jacket, as well as flats and the shaggy 'do and barely-there makeup she wore on the runway.
Judge's scorecard: In Stefani's case, the feminine top, heels, hair, and makeup work well at softening up the tough, athletic pants. She put together a full look, and it shows. However, Jenner looks effortlessly stylish in an ensemble worn just to leave work! Stefani easily wins this one, but expect Jenner to be hot on the heels of her competition in future faceoffs.
