Sir Elton John is a busy guy. He's one of the biggest names in the music business with boatloads of hits under his belt, and he's currently prepping to go on tour before returning to Las Vegas for his show, Million Dollar Piano. You might think a guy with his schedule — and his fame — wouldn't even consider jetting over to England for his school reunion. But Elton John chose not to eschew the often stress-inducing occasion. In fact, he not only showed up, but he had a grand old time. He posted the evidence on Instagram:
"Lunch at home with dear old school friends. Many of whom I haven't seen for 50 years! It was as if we never left school," he wrote, without acknowledging just how much has happened since he left school (read: his career). "So much laughter and so many wonderful memories. #ShareTheLove #PinnerCountyGrammarSchool #Classof58."
The 68-year-old singer also posted a photo alongside his friend, Keith Francis.
"My oldest pal Keith Francis. A wonderful, loyal friend for 57 years and still counting! He flew allt he way from Australia for our class reunion. Love you so much. #ShareTheLove #PinnerCountyGrammarSchool #Classof58."
He probably had a lot to tell his former classmates about —you know, between becoming a celebrated musician and composer, writing the music for The Lion King, being knighted, and most recently, standing before the Senate to state how more should be done to terminate HIV and AIDS. (And that's just the short list.)
So many accomplishments might make a star feel too important to show up to a reunion, but not Elton. He stood among his friends from years ago, as if he was a regular, non-famous person.
