Alec Baldwin’s temper has gotten the better of him… again.
Over the weekend, the actor had a nasty run-in with a New York Post reporter and photographer, who were probing for information about a new lawsuit filed against Baldwin’s yoga instructor wife. The “30 Rock” star exchanged words with the newspaper staffers, but exactly what those words were is now in debate.
Photographer G.N. Miller claims the 54-year-old hurled racial slurs at him during the exchange outside Baldwin’s Manhattan apartment on Sunday. While Baldwin – who is known for his temper, most notably his 2007 tirade against his then-11-year-old daughter Ireland, and has had several run-ins with Post staffers through the years – admits that he did yell at the man, he adamantly denies the allegations that he used derogatory epithets.
“The claim of racist remarks is one of the most outrageous things I’ve heard in my life,” Baldwin said in a statement released to the press on Monday. Elaborating to Gothamist, the actor added, "If you want to paint a picture of me that is a denigrating picture, I've seen that. If you want to put words in my mouth... I've certainly had my moments. But this is not one of them. I don't think I've ever uttered a racial epithet to someone in my lifetime.”
According to the New York Post, Miller and reporter Tara Palmeri approached Baldwin as he was walking his dogs outside his luxury building on Sunday morning to ask about the lawsuit filed against Hilaria by a man who was injured after taking a tumble in her yoga class. Palmeri claims Baldwin grabbed her arm and said, "I want to choke you to death," then used the slurs against Miller, who is black.
Both Baldwin and Miller filed complaints with the police..
While Baldwin went on a tweeting spree following the incident, he deleted many of his posts and seems to be going on a Twitter hiatus as of early Tuesday morning. “Here is a tweet that will take me to a total of 10,000 tweets,” he wrote. “And then I might take some time do other things in this world.”
This drama overshadows the happy news that Baldwin announced last week. He and Hilaria, who married last June, are expecting their first child.
