Blink49 Studios Attaches Kristina Lauren Anderson, Remy Solomon & Natalie Krinsky To Upcoming Dramas

EXCLUSIVE: Kristina Lauren Anderson, Remy Solomon and producer Natalie Krinsky are getting in business with Canada’s Blink49 Studios.

Anderson has been attached to write If We Were Villains, the drama series John Morayniss’ Blink49 is co-producing with Sex Education maker Eleven, while Solomon will adapt Marissa Stapley’s novel Things To Do When It’s Raining. Anderson will be adapting M.L. Rio’s book, which is billed as a “hauntingly suspenseful novel that follows seven young Shakespearean actors at an elite college where competition is fierce, rivalry is dangerous, and the line between life and art is dangerously thin.” When tragedy strikes in their final year and one dies, the others are forced to prove to the police — and themselves — that they are blameless. The book has sold more than 180,000 copies in English since 2017.

The series was unveiled in September, with a production including Eleven’s executive producer Jamie Campbell and co-executive producer Jennifer Pick, Carolyn Newman and Virginia Rankin exec producing for Blink49 along with Rio, Tony-nominated producer Christopher Maring of CM Stage Productions, Andrew Williamson, Henrik Meyer and Enuka Okuma. The series is overseen by Blink49’s Alix Steerman.

Anderson is known for writing the likes of Catherine the Great, which had Barbara Streisand attached to direct; and was a producer on TNT limited series The Alienist. She represented by WME and managed by MGMT Entertainment.

Solomon, meanwhile, will write Tings To Do When It’s Raining, which is an epic romantic drama set in Canada’s 1,000 Islands entering on a woman who is driven by deception and desire to return to her grandparents’ inn, where she encounters her first love as a teenage girl, who later disappeared without a trace. Interest in the book has spiked since Reece Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine Book Club made Stapley’s novel Lucky as its first Canadian selection.

Solomon, previously a playwright and producer in Chicago, is currently running a mini room for a show she has created and sold than unnamed streamer and has projects in development with Osprey Productions and Eighty-Two Cent Productions. She has ghostwritten 13 novels and penned narrative audio romances from an app-based start-up.

Krinsky, who has previously had deals with the likes of Fox, will be an executive producer. Newman and Rankin will executive produce for Blink49, with the company’s Steerman overseeing the project, which was unveiled back in March.

“We’re delighted to have Natalie and Remy attached to Things to Do When It’s Raining and to welcome Kristina aboard If We Were Villains,” said Blink49’s Newman and Virginia Rankin Their visionary talent perfectly complements the essence of these projects. “Their involvement reflects our commitment to uniting global creative minds and highlights our ability to curate world-class collaborations that transcends borders and enriches storytelling.”

The news, which is set to be unveiled on stage today at Content London, comes after Fifth Season-owned Blink49 teamed with Lilly Singh’s Unicorn Island Productions to develop novel ARZU into a drama series with Geetika Lizardi (Bridgerton) attached to write. Charithra Chandran (Bridgerton) is set to star.
