‘Blindspot’ Star Injured While Shooting Explosive Scene

Blindspot star Sullivan Stapleton swung by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he showed off how he does his own stunts. The actor brought a clip from a recent episode in which he was running away from something that explodes. In the clip you can see the actor was caught up in the explosion, which was specially designed to not injure anyone — however, it ended up injuring him.

Stapleton said, “One of the cannons was low and hit me in the back of the leg, and there’s still a wound in the back of my leg from that explosion.” He then proceeded to pull down his pants and show the fresh scar from where a piece of shrapnel had hit him near the hamstring.

While it made for a funny story, you kinda got the sense that Stapleton was still pretty annoyed about the whole thing. Maybe he should abide by the rule that if you do your own stunts, you can’t complain when you get a little blown up.

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on NBC.
