Conservative BlazeTV host Jon Miller complained late Sunday night about the manner in which “Parasite” director Bong Joon Ho accepted the Oscar for Best Picture, then backpedaled as criticism for his comments grew.
“A man named Bong Joon Ho wins #Oscar for best original screenplay over Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and 1917,” the “White House Brief” host wrote of the South Korean film’s win. “Acceptance speech was: ‘GREAT HONOR. THANK YOU.’ Then he proceeds to give the rest of his speech in Korean. These people are the destruction of America.”
After being called out for being racist, Miller clarified his “these people” comments were not about Koreans.
“‘These people’ are obviously not Koreans but those in Hollywood awarding a foreign film that stokes flames of class warfare over 2 films I thought were more deserving simply to show how woke they are,” he tweeted in a follow-up post. That should be clear from the rest of what I tweeted about tonight’s production.”
A formal complaint about Miller’s “these people” tweet was filed with Twitter, but the social media platform did not find that it violated their rules.
“I’m glad Twitter — unlike Hollywood — still let’s you disagree with #Oscars picks without being canceled!” Miller posted, showing a screengrab of the complaint.”

National broadcasts in creators’ native tongues aren’t new targets for Miller. One week before the Oscars, he took aim at the Super Bowl, where Jennifer Lopez and Shakira performed: “Oh fantastic the halftime show is not even in English,” he tweeted.
