Niall Horan and Blake Shelton may have a father-son bond on The Voice,” but Shelton is dishing up some tough love.

Team Niall singer Gina Miles floored coaches Horan, Kelly Clarkson, Chance the Rapper and Shelton during the final round of the playoffs Monday night. The Illinois native dazzled with her haunting rendition of “Wicked Game” by Chris Isaak.

“You know when you hear a unique voice on the radio and you know that’s (the) person, you’ve got that distinct tone to your voice that you don’t hear often,” Horan said. “You absolutely nailed it.”

Shelton in particular was adamant about Miles advancing to the show’s live semifinals, threatening to disown Horan as his TV son if he didn’t choose the 19-year-old vocalist for his final two.

“If you don’t put her through, you are not only fired from this show, you are not my son anymore,” Shelton said. “That was my favorite thing that I’ve heard in a long time.”

Here’s what else happened on Monday’s episode.

“If you don’t put her through, you are not only fired from this show, you are not my son anymore,” Shelton, right, told Horan. “That was my favorite thing that I’ve heard in a long time.”

Kelly Clarkson hugs Team Niall singer after tear-jerking performance

Michael B. of Team Niall delivered all the feels with his emotional cover Brandi Carlile’s “The Joke.” The 29-year-old vocalist, who is gay, channeled the alienation he felt as a queer person into the performance.

Michael’s emotional delivery nearly moved Clarkson to tears, as she walked across the stage to give the singer a hug after the performance. “Let’s just hug it out,” Clarkson said. “I’m trying not to cry, that’s so good.”

“I don’t know how you don’t go through (to the next round),” Shelton added. “I haven’t seen anybody pour more of themselves into a performance than you have.”

Horan was equally impressed with Michael’s commitment to the song’s message.

“You can do the technicalities – you do them so well – but your connection to a lyric is unlike anyone else in the competition,” Horan said. “I’m just so proud of you.”

Niall Horan's playoff pass singer makes Kelly Clarkson feel 'very scared'

Team Niall singer Ryley Tate Wilson, who scored his team’s playoff pass (allowing him to skip the show’s knockout round), slowed things down with his tender performance of "when the party’s over" by Billie Eilish.

The strength of Wilson’s performance even intimidated a "Voice" veteran like Clarkson.

“I get asked every season ‘Who are you afraid of on the other team?’ and I normally (say) ‘I’m not afraid,’ but I am very, very scared of you,” Clarkson told Wilson. “You are so good.”

Horan said he was amazed by the 15-year-old’s precociousness as a performer.

“Fifteen years old, put that in your heads for a second,” Horan said. “Ryley’s mature beyond his years and puts in performances of someone that’s been doing it for 20 and smashes it every single time.”

Who went home on 'The Voice'?

Team Kelly singers D.Smooth and Holly Brand earned the final two spots on Clarkson’s team, sending home contestants Cait Martin, Neil Salsich and ALI.

D.Smooth, who was awarded the playoff pass on Team Kelly, won over Clarkson with his soulful performance of Khalid’s “Location.”

“From the get-go, he’s tugged at special strings in my heart,” Clarkson said. “We just haven’t had a singer like him in a long time.”

Meanwhile on Team Niall, singers Ryley Tate Wilson and Gina Miles secured the semifinal spots on Horan’s team, sending home contestants Ross Clayton, Tasha Jessen and Michael B.

Choosing Wilson to advance in the competition was a no-brainer for Horan.

“I had to move Ryley Tate through to the live shows. He’s never put a foot wrong on that stage since Day 1,” Horan said. “He is the future of our music industry.”
