Blake Shelton Says Gwen Stefani Has Fallen In Love With Country Music Since They Started Dating
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have been dating for four years, and during that time he's managed to convert her to a country music fan. He recently told Fox News that she suffered "music abuse" growing up in California and was never exposed to country music until they got together.

“There’s a photo of her when she was a kid with a cowboy hat on holding two kittens –– that’s about as country of a thing that I can think of,” Shelton told the outlet. “But you know what? Since we’ve been together, this girl has literally fallen in love with country music. It’s all that she listens to, it’s all that’s on in her car.”
“It’s not to do with me or anything,” he continued “It’s just she grew up in Anaheim and moved to Los Angeles. She didn’t hear a lot of country music is all I’m saying. Her parents abused her with this other music they played. It was music abuse, I’m telling you. She just wasn’t exposed to a lot of country music, but now it’s all she listens to. I hope she’s OK with me saying that.”
Stefani has had an influence on Shelton, as well. The "God's Country" singer recently told The Tennessean that he's found religion again thanks to her encouragement.
"I believe in God now more than I ever have in my life,” Shelton said. “The biggest part of that is just how [Stefani] came into my life and now our relationship. It’s just too weird. If you take God out of it, it doesn’t make sense. If you put God into it, everything that’s happened with us makes sense.”
“It was the most shocking moment I’ve had in my 20 years of doing this,” he continued. “I was in a place that I consider to be God’s country doing the thing that makes me feel the most connected to God, which is working on the land. I heard that song, and I had one of those moments that you hear people talk about … where they say they pulled over on the side of the highway and listened. I literally had that moment.”
