Nowadays, it’s all about the blended family: If you love someone, you love their kids too, or it just won’t work. Luckily, Blake Shelton seems to have embraced that philosophy, with a new source claiming Shelton cares for Gwen Stefani’s sons like his own. Shelton and Stefani have been dating since 2015, and their relationship seems better than ever, so it makes perfect sense that he’s bonded with her kids. But the extent to which Shelton seems to embrace his role in her sons’ lives is truly heartwarming.

Stefani has three sons from her previous marriage with Gavin Rossdale: Kingston (age 13), Zuma (age 10), and Apollo (age 6). She and Rossdale were married from 2002 to 2016, though they announced their split a year earlier. Shelton has been dating Stefani more or less ever since, and a new source tells Entertainment Tonight that he loves being a part of her boys’ lives — moreover, that he “cares for them like [they’re] his own.”

“Blake has made Gwen’s boys a huge priority in his life,” the sources shares. “Gwen and Blake do so many fun activities with the boys and Blake plays with them like a big kid. He seriously enjoys doing things with the kids like going to the movies, fishing, camping, and teaching them to horseback ride and boating.” Honestly, all of that does sound like a great time — can they make an adult version of Camp Shelton for the rest of us to get in on?

With Shelton and Stefani’s relationship going so well, it’s only a matter of time before the public starts clamoring for an engagement — but this source advises us not to hold our breath. “They are both working so much and are loving their life as a family,” the source says (Stefani and Shelton are currently working on Season 17 of The Voice together as coaches). “[They’re] head over heels in love, but don’t want to feel rushed to tie the knot when everything is going so well in both of their lives.”

Fair enough: If it works, it works, so why complicate things? We’re sending love and best wishes to this beautiful family — and perhaps more importantly, love, best wishes, and absolutely no pressure to make a commitment they don’t want.
