In the whirlwind of glitz and glamour that accompanies the Super Bowl, Blake Lively managed to steal a bit of the spotlight this year with her unexpected fashion choice that sent fans on a trip down memory lane.

Lively, 36, known for her impeccable style, rocked a red-and-white tracksuit from Balenciaga’s collaboration with Adidas, which launched in May 2022 that bore a striking resemblance to the iconic red tracksuits famously worn by Glee's feisty cheerleading coach, Sue Sylvester (played by Jane Lynch).

Lively teamed the set with a white cropped tank top, but rather than keep it too sporty, she wore stiletto heels, a gold Tiffany and Co. jewelry chain and voluminous ‘80s-inspired curls.

As the Super Bowl unfolded, social media platforms erupted with chatter as fans quickly noticed the uncanny similarity between Lively's ensemble and Sylvester's signature look. The actress, who is no stranger to turning heads on the red carpet, managed to spark a delightful wave of nostalgia among Glee enthusiasts while simultaneously showcasing her playful side.

Someone else wrote on X: "Someone said Blake Lively’s outfit look like Sue Sylvester and I can’t unsee it."

Aside from the nostalgia, eagle-eyed fashion aficionados also recognized the designer item as it was previously worn by Kim Kardashian not too long ago.

Amanda Hirsch of the podcast Not Skinny but Not Fat pointed out that very fact on Instagram, where she reminded followers of Kardashian’s OOTD (worn earlier this month), which, like Lively's, included a white crop top. The SKIMS founder, 43, carried a teeny silver bag though.

The design was also modeled by Bella Hadid in the label's November campaign.
