Blake Lively Trolling Ryan Reynolds About Swiping Right on His Trainer Is the Normalcy We Need

In these dark and uncertain times, it helps to have a sense of normalcy. And you know what feels delightfully normal right now? Blake Lively trolling husband Ryan Reynolds — on social media, per the norm, and this time over trying to “swipe right” on Reynolds’ ripped fitness trainer. We’re going to go ahead and add this to the running tally of times Lively has taken playful swipes at her husband, proving that (thankfully) some things never change.

This latest little tête-à-tête started on Thursday when Reynolds took to Instagram to give his trainer, Don Saladino, a shout-out for offering at-home workouts amid the coronavirus pandemic. “Check out @donsaladino’s IG page. He trains a bunch of superheroes and a certain nasty, shit-talking Deadpool,” Reynolds wrote on his Stories, obviously alluding to himself. “He’s one of the greats. And he’s giving it away for FREE during these difficult days. Anyone can do this.”

After that, Lively decided to support her husband in a way that, well, just feels right for these two. Reposting Reynolds’ original content to her own Stories, Lively added an extra bit of commentary directed at her husband. “@vancityreynolds I keep swiping right. This thing isn’t working,” she feigned confusion before adding, “Oh… swipe UP.”

Of course, we all know what comes next. Reynolds isn’t one to pass up an opportunity to return the favor and troll his wife. Remember her 32nd birthday this past August? He posted a series of photos to celebrate his wife. The hitch? They were all unflattering photos featuring Lively making weird faces or not paying attention. Ha!

Plus, trolling each other gives the couple something to do during this indefinite period of downtime. For the time being, Reynolds and Lively are hunkered down with their daughters James, 5, Inez, 3, and another baby girl whose name hasn’t yet been released — along with Lively’s mom, Elaine. And as Reynolds tells it, he’s doing his best to stay entertained.

“We’re lucky enough to have a little, tiny garden, so we’re learning a little bit about gardening,” he said, hilariously continuing, “We’re trying to make this an educational experience, but I’m mostly drinking.”
