Black Panther star Danai Gurira pays tribute to Chadwick Boseman
The late, great Chadwick Boseman has been remembered by his Black Panther co-star Danai Gurira in a touching tribute.
Taking to Twitter today (August 31), the Okoye actress posted a heartfelt statement alongside two pictures.
She began: "How do you honor a king? Reeling from the loss of my colleague, my friend, my brother. Struggling for words. Nothing feels adequate. I always marvelled at how special Chadwick was. Such a pure hearted, profoundly generous, regal, fun guy."

Referencing their onscreen relationship in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the actress, who's also known for playing Michonne in The Walking Dead, continued: "My entire job as Okeye was to respect and protect a king. Honor his leadership. Chadwick made that job profoundly easy. He was the epitome of kindness, elegance, diligence and grace.
"On many an occasion I would think of how thankful I was that he was the leading man I was working closely with. A true class act. And so perfectly equipped to take on the responsibility of leading the franchise that changed everything for Black representation."

Danai went on to highlight the children Chadwick inspired throughout his career, writing that her "heart aches for them, to lose their hero just as they finally found him".
Concluding her statement, she noted: "I am so thankful to have taken the Black Panther journey with him. To have known him, spent time in his light and leadership and call him forever a friend.

Chadwick passed away aged 43 after a four-year battle with colon cancer.
His family confirmed the news on his Twitter account on Friday (August 28).
