Black Opry Creates Safe Space For Black Country Music Fans & Artists
In season 1, Kelly met Rachel, a young woman who shared her experience of being a Black country music fan. That conversation inspired Holly G. to start the Black Opry, a movement that's bringing together Black artists and Black fans of country music across America. Holly G. shares how the Black Opry first began as a blog to connect with fellow fans, but after getting the attention of various Black country artists, the platform has grown to host dozens of concerts showcasing Black country music.
