The Black Keys to deliver a keynote at SXSW 2024, premiere new documentary

Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney of The Black Keys will deliver a keynote address at the 2024 South by Southwest Festival and conference. The Grammy Award-winning arena rock duo will also premiere their new documentary "This is a Film About The Black Keys" at the festival. The film traces the band's rise from the clubs of Akron, Ohio, to the biggest stages in the world.

The fourth round of SXSW speakers also features 86-year-old actress and activist Jane Fonda, who will be at the festival to talk about activism and Hollywood. Basketball Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade will discuss his entrepreneurial endeavors and actor Elijah Wood will tape a live episode of his podcast "Visitations" with Daniel Noah at the festival.

CEOs of Hinge, Twitch and Maxine Waters coming to SXSW

Twitch CEO Dan Clancy will be a featured speaker at the festival, while Hinge CEO Justin McLeod will join author and CEO of TheLi.st Ann Shoket for a conversation about confronting cultural loneliness.

Congresswoman Maxine Waters will participate in a panel on homelessness with executivedirector of the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness Jeff Olivet and president andCEO of Los Angeles Mission Troy Vaughn. President of the Amazon Labor Union and founder of TheCongress of Essential Workers, Chris Smalls and lawyer, writer, and public speaker StevenDonziger will talk about labor organizing and taking on corporate power.

"Reservation Dogs" co-creator Sterlin Harjo, director Danis Goulet, actor/writer/director Devery Jacobs, actor D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, and CEO of the Indigenous Screen Office Kerry Swanson will be on hand to talk about indigenous storytelling.

How to attend SXSW 2024

SXSW will be March 8-16. Badge rates are $1,835 for a Platinum pass (which grants access to all festival and conference tracks); $1,445 for an Interactive festival pass; $1,345 for a Film and Television festival pass and $890 for a music festival badge.

Wristbands for the music and film festivals will be made available to local residents closer to the festival.
