Black Bear Falls From Tree Into Tarp Held by Rescuers

A group of rescuers used a large tarp to catch a black bear stuck up a tree in Clarion, Pennsylvania, on May 4.

David Cyphert filmed a video which captured the moment the bear fell from the tree into the tarp below.

Cyphert told Storyful that Clarion Fire Department and Pennsylvania Game Commission arrived to rescue a bear that was seen clinging to a tree at Clarion University campus. Cyphert said a game warden in a ladder truck dislodged the bear from the branch, to cause it to fall into the tarp.

Pennsylvania Game Commission officials told a local media outlet that the bear was relocated to game lands further north in Clarion County. Credit: ProPoint Media Photography via Storyful
