BJ Novak Scores FX Pilot Order for Anthology Series ‘Platform’

FX has ordered a pilot for an anthology series that hails from B.J. Novak, Variety has confirmed.
The half-hour series, titled “Platform,” is described as using the boldest issues of our times as a jumping off point to tell singular, character-driven stories about the world we live in today. The show has lined up Lucas Hedges, Jon Bernthal, Kaitlyn Dever, Boyd Holbrook, O’Shea Jackson Jr., George Wallace and Ed Asner to star, among others.

“Platform” is written, directed, and executive produced by Novak, with FX Productions producing. Production on the pilot is set to begin today.
Novak is best known for his work on “The Office,” on which he served as a writer, director, and in various producer roles in addition to appearing onscreen as Ryan Howard. He also served as an executive producer, director, and writer on “The Mindy Project,” on which he also appeared as Jamie. Novak’s other onscreen credits include shows like “The Newsroom,” “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” and “Community” as well as films like “Inglorious Basterds,” “Reign Over Me,” and “The Amazing Spider-Man 2.”
He is repped by CAA, Price Management, and Ziffren Brittenham.
FX’s other recent pilot orders include the 80’s Hollywood agency drama “Gone Hollywood” as well as “Why Visit America,” based on the short story by Matthew Baker.
