Biscuits Breakdown; Get ready for some football fun

The Montgomery Biscuits is still a baseball team, right? Most definitely. But for their Aug. 22-29 home game stretch against the visiting Mississippi Braves, there's some love for football being thrown in.

  • Tuesday, Aug. 22, 6:35 p.m. — This game was made for students. Bring your student ID to the Biscuits' home at Riverwalk Stadium and get a ticket for just $5. It's also Taco Tuesday, so visit the Golden Sombrero and get $2 beef and $3 chicken soft shell tacos.

  • Wednesday, Aug. 23, 6:35 p.m. — It's another night of $5 tickets for students with ID. This is Military Wednesday — active duty, veteran and retired military personnel get discounts on admission, food and drinks. Go by the Club Car Bar for $5 craft beer drafts.

  • Thursday, Aug. 24, 6:35 p.m. — The $5 (with student ID) student ticket deal continues. They'll be giving away College Night t-shirts to the first 1,000 fans age 15 and older. Get there early. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. For the grownups, age 21 and up, this is also Thirsty Thursday, with half off domestic drafts and cans.

  • Friday, Aug. 25, 6:35 p.m. — Just a fun night of baseball planned.

  • Saturday, Aug. 26, 6:05 p.m. — Yes, it's Football Night. The Biscuits will be wearing football themed jerseys that will be auctioned off throughout the weekend. Stick around after the game for MAX Fireworks.

  • Sunday, Aug. 27, 3:33 p.m. — For the ballpark's first 500 guests age 14 and under, there's more football love with a Lil' Crumbs football giveaway. Get there early, and bring your dogs for Bark in the Park. Gates open at 2:30 p.m. You can play catch on the field from 2:30-3 p.m. — just bring your own ball and glove. After the game, kids can run the bases. The line will start at the top of section 117 in the 9th inning.

Oh, and in case you haven't heard, the Biscuits have a couple of new big-eyed food mascots that the fan's helped pick the names for. They've got a bacon biscuit named Chris P (get it?), and a chicken biscuit named Cluck Norris.
