Biopic About Beatles’ Manager Brian Epstein in the Works
A new biopic about legendary Beatles manager Brian Epstein is in the works, Variety points out. Midas Man: The Brian Epstein Story will be helmed by filmmaker Jonas Åkerlund, who recently directed the black metal film Lords of Chaos, and has created music videos for the likes of Lady Gaga, the Rolling Stones, Beyoncé, Metallica, Smashing Pumpkins, and many more.
Brian Epstein became famously known as “the fifth Beatle” when Paul McCartney crowned him as such after the group signed with Epstein in the early 1960s. Epstein also worked with Gerry and the Pacemakers, Billy J. Kramer, and Cilla Black, and helped promote the Who, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, and others.
According to Variety, Midas Man will be shot in London, Liverpool, and the United States. It is slated for release in 2021.
