Billy Strings, Katt Williams and other fun things to do around Jacksonville this weekend

There are a lot of big events going on around Northeast Florida this weekend, but two of the biggest — Billy Strings' Friday, Saturday and Sunday concerts in St. Augustine and Katt Williams' comedy show in downtown Jacksonville, are sold out.

There's still a big railroad festival in Callahan, a local favorite releasing a new album and three Jacksonville Symphony performances for those of us who didn't score a ticket.

If you don’t already have a ticket for one of Billy Strings three shows at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre, you’re out of luck – they're all sold out (for the fourth consecutive year). He’s playing Friday, Saturday and Sunday night and, if past performances are an indication, won’t play the same song twice.

Katt Williams

Back in 2017, Katt Williams recorded a Netflix special at the Florida Theatre, notably tearing into the city and its institutions. He’s back, at the much larger VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena, for a stop on his Dark Matter Tour. The show, scheduled for 8 p.m. Friday, is sold out.

Jacksonville Beach native RickoLus has been consistently churning out music for more than a decade. He’s ready to release his latest album, “These Things Happen,” at a party that starts at 8 p.m. Friday at the Walrus. Gringo Star, Ashley Reda and Luci Lind open. Tickets are $17.

‘Let’s Misbehave’

The Jacksonville Symphony welcomes guest vocalist Tony DeSare for three performances of Cole Porter favorites. You’ll get a kick out of the abbreviated matinee show at 11 a.m. Friday ($35-$44) or the full evening performances at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Jacoby Symphony Hall ($30-$85).

Railroad Day Festival

Callahan joins in the celebration of Nassau County’s 200th birthday at its annual Railroad Day Festival, held around the Callahan Train Depot from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The fest includes live music, model trains, a car show and arts and crafts vendors. Free.
