In the past six years, Strings has been awarded a Grammy for Best Bluegrass Album, plus is currently the reigning and repeating Americana Music Association Artist of the Year and International Bluegrass Music Awards Entertainer of the Year.

His growing acclaim arrives as trade publication Pollstar reported in 2021 that Strings and his band sold roughly 181,000 tickets — landing him in the top third of the year's 100 best touring acts globally.

"Every show has to be the absolute best," stated Strings in a May 2022 Tennessean interview.

"It's a necessity to keep this thing going," Strings said. "That's why I've been gone for the last 10 years. I don't know what else I would do if I didn't have music. ... This is all I got, man."

Michigan-born and Nashville-based Strings tours in support of critically acclaimed work, including the recent Willie Nelson collaboration "California Sober," his first release since partnering with Reprise Records. As well, his latest album, 2022's "Me/And/Dad," features Strings alongside his dad, Terry Barber, and showcases new versions of bluegrass and country classics familiar to the twosome since Strings' childhood.
