Billy Ray Cyrus and Firerose have reached a new relationship milestone!

After tying the knot in October, the musicians marked their first Christmas as husband and wife by posting a sweet photo on Instagram. The photograph was shared as a joint point and showed Cyrus, 62, smiling from ear-to-ear as Firerose took a selfie of them posing next to a Christmas tree.

The tree was decorated with colorful ornaments and sat before a wall and a string of Christmas lights. Firerose kept her attire simple by wearing a loose-fitting gray shirt, while Cyrus sported a festive red flannel. The couple wrote in the caption, "Merry Christmas! 🎄🎁❤️🦌☃️❄️🎅🏼❤️✨🎶."

December has been a big month for the couple because Firerose also celebrated her birthday. The singer shared photos from her past year on Instagram in honor of the occasion.

"Birthdays always make me reflective," her caption read. "I can honestly say this year has been my favorite on earth so far. I married the love of my life, connected with some of my heroes, made friends with truly exceptional souls, signed with my dream team & collaborated with some of my all-time creative idols. I've never been more extraordinarily grateful to God or excited for the year ahead! 🙏🏼❤️"

Cyrus shared similar sentiments in a birthday tribute to Firerose, in which he referred to her as the "beautiful love of my life."

Of their relationship, the "Achy Breaky Heart" singer said during a performance on Good Morning America in August, "We're kind of like… It's a peanut butter and jelly."

"I'm a left-handed singer-songwriter from Flatwoods, Kentucky, and she's a trained orchestral musician…," he added. The couple appeared on the morning talk show to perform their single "Plans," which was penned by Diane Warren and had its music video exclusively premiered by PEOPLE.

The country music icon told PEOPLE in November 2022 that music has been something that has helped their relationship grow stronger.

"When we began sharing the music, it evolved more into, as musical soulmates, to soulmates, happy, pure love that to me, I didn’t know could exist," he said. "Again, we’re musicians, first and foremost, both of us. And we found this harmony, and this rhythm, this melody to life."
