Eileen Davidson, of The Young and the Restless fame, paid tribute to her former costar on social media, writing, "I'm so sad to hear of Billy Miller's passing. His infectious charm and warmth left lasting impressions on all of us who were lucky enough to have him in our lives. I'm gonna miss that mischievous smile. Love you, Billy."

General Hospital actor Jason Thompson called the news "heartbreaking," saying, "He was funny, had a great laugh, and very talented. Light and love to his family and friends."

"You lit up every room with your smile," fellow Young and the Restless alum Michael Muhney wrote of Miller on social media. "Your quiet intensity on screen was second only to your gentle kindness and genuine care in private. You were bigger and braver and bolder than this life. You were legend."

He continued, "There is no landing to this final cliffhanger. The wings you've spent your lifetime earning have carried you up to that wonderful place in the sky."

As a young actor, Miller got his start in an episode of CSI: NY in 2006. He landed a series regular role on All My Children the following year.

Miller rose to stardom on The Young and the Restless, where he graduated from a supporting cast member to a series regular. He joined the cast in 2008, taking over the role of spoiled rich boy Billy Abbott, who was portrayed by several actors over the years, including David Tom and Ryan Brown. He appeared on the show through 2014, during which he was lauded by critics and audiences. Miller took home three Daytime Emmys for his performance as the character.

He continued his career with parts on Justified, Castle, and CSI, before returning to daytime television on General Hospital, as both Jason Morgan and his twin brother, Andrew Cain. His other roles included recurring stints on Ringer, Suits, Ray Donovan, and Truth Be Told. He also appeared alongside Bradley Cooper in the Clint Eastwood drama American Sniper, and owned several Los Angeles restaurants and bars for many years.

Miller is survived by his mother, Patricia; sister, Megan; brother-in-law, Ronnie; nephew, Grayson; and niece, Charley.
