Billy Joel 'Got Very Cool Dad Points' for Taking Daughters to See — and Meet — Taylor Swift (Exclusive)

The musician attended Swift's Eras Tour stop in Tampa, Florida, with his wife and two youngest daughters in April

Billy Joel and his little girls are Swifties!

Earlier this year, the musician, 74, and his wife, Alexis Roderick, took their two daughters, Della Rose, 8, and Remy Anne, 6, to see — and meet — Taylor Swift during her Eras Tour stop in Tampa, Florida.

Now, in an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE at the Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame (LIMEHOF), where an exhibit crafted in his honor opened on Friday, Joel details how he "got very cool Dad points" for helping his two youngest children watch and spend time with the Midnights artist.

As for what he thinks of Swift, 33, herself, the "Uptown Girl" singer says, "Oh, she's great. She's really very good. We're going to probably go see her again."

Back in April, when Joel and Roderick took their girls to see Swift, the proud dad shared a carousel of photos and videos on his Instagram page of the fun family outing.

"Rockin’ into our new ‘era’ thank you @Taylorswift we loved the show!" Joel — who is also a father to daughter Alexa Ray Joel with ex-wife Christie Brinkley — captioned his post, adding three hashtags: "#Swifties," "#TaylorSwift" and "#TheErasTour."

In one image shared, Roderick could be seen posing with her little ones as they both smiled wide, while another shot showed Joel walking and holding hands with Della and Remy.

One final clip showed Joel and Roderick's kids jumping around and dancing at the concert to Swift's Reputation track "... Ready for It?"

After seeing Swift's Eras Tour in person, Joel raved about the singer and, while speaking with The New York Times, compared her to The Beatles.

"The only thing I can compare it to is the phenomenon of Beatlemania," he told the publication.

Previously, in 2021, Joel shared similar sentiments when he described Swift as The Beatles of her generation to USA Today.

"Taylor is also a very talented girl, and she's productive and keeps coming up with great concepts and songs, and she's huge," he said. "You have to give her high marks. She knows music, and she knows how to write. She's like that generation's Beatles."
