Billy Eichner and Stephen Colbert Like Their New York Bubble, Thank You Very Much

A subdued Billy Eichner is escorting Late Show host Stephen Colbert around the Big Apple in the newest episode of Billy on the Street. The two went around to ask New Yorkers what they thought about living in their supposed “bubble,” and about President Trump. “Miss, for a dollar, what’s the first word that comes to mind when I say, ‘Donald Trump?’ asked Eichner, passing by an older woman in a lavish coat. “Golden shower,” she answered succinctly. ”OK, thank you,” Eichner responded, moving quickly away. “Golden shower. Yeah.”

“What issues concern you, most of all, what are you scared about right now?” Eichner asked another passerby. “I’m actually very concerned about the people he’s bringing into his Cabinet,” the New Yorker answered. “He’s opening Pandora’s box.” “He actually grabbed Pandora’s box without asking permission,” quipped Colbert.

When Eichner asked another stranger what she thought about the accusation from other parts of the country that New Yorkers live in a bubble, “They have a little bit of a point,” she reasoned. “We live in a little bit of an echo chamber, and we would do well to keep our ears open, but that doesn’t mean our concerns aren’t valid. … Come visit us. I’ve dropped my phone in the streets of New York three times since I’ve lived here, and every single time, it’s been returned to me.” “BOOM!” Eichner exclaimed.

Billy on the Street airs Tuesdays at 10:30 p.m. on TruTV.
