Billy Crystal revisits Katz's Deli for the first time since 'When Harry Met Sally' scene

Billy Crystal will have what she's having.

Crystal, 75, recently visited Katz's Delicatessen 35 years after filming the iconic NSFW scene for When Harry Met Sally. The actor was accompanied by CBS’s Gayle King while for his first time at the New York City hotspot since shooting the infamous movie moment.

In the 1989 rom-com Meg Ryan’s character Sally fakes an orgasm while dining at Katz's Deli, to the horror and bemusement of Harry and the restaurant's other patrons.

“Harry and Sally’s table” is still there, and clearly marked with a big sign that reads “Where Harry Met Sally...Hope You Have What She Had!” The silly sign references the iconic quote after Sally finishes her loud fake-orgasm and another customer at Katz’s says to a waiter, “I’ll have what she’s having.”

King referred to the same quote when placing her order at the deli counter, “I want to have what Sally had that day,” and the 46th Kennedy Center honoree ordered the same thing.

Once seated, Crystal tells King how being part of a “little piece of history here in New York City” is “amazing.”

Despite the movie being released several decades ago, the actor says that the movie gets “more important as time goes by. People fall in love everyday. People fall out of love everyday. People find each other, they lose each other every day. And new generations keep finding When Harry Met Sally They keep discovering it, and we're forever young in that movie. And we represent them. They relate to us," said Crystal.

His rom-com counterpart referenced the iconic scene earlier this month. Ryan playfully roasted her costar when Crystal was being recognized at the 46th Kennedy Center Honors.

During her speech, Ryan, 62, made a reference to the famous scene. "The scene came really naturally to me, and I really have Billy to thank for that," Ryan said. "I've actually never been around anyone who made faking an orgasm easier. So thank you, Billy."

She added, "As his wife Janice has known for over 50 years, falling in love with Billy is a pretty easy thing to do."

Ryan wasn’t the only one singing Crystal’s praises. President Joe Biden offered tributes to each of the honorees, beginning with Crystal.

“In New York City, you can walk a few blocks and you can circle the Earth in just a few blocks. Eight million people of every background in most — in the most alive city, probably, in America. And that’s just one guy who makes everyone stop and laugh, Billy Crystal,” Biden said.

"Billy grew up sweeping the floor of his family’s music shop on 42nd Street, and he became America’s most celebrated comedian, actor, and writer on screen and on stage," the president continued. "What I admire most about him is his heart — his heart that reminds us to love and care for one another — raising awareness and funds to end cancer, fighting homelessness, help a city rebuild after 9/11 and Superstorm Sandy and so much more."
