Billy Crystal revisited one of the most memorable moments in his very memorable career when he sat down at Katz’s – the deli immortalized by that scene in When Harry Met Sally… – with Gayle King to discuss the impact of Rob Reiner’s classic romcom. It was the first time the actor had returned to Katz’s since the film shot there.

King asked Crystal what it meant that people come from all over the world to sit at the table where they filmed the scene.

“It’s an amazing phenomenon that this has touched people, and this little piece of history here in New York City – you know, the movie was 1989,” Crystal told the CBS Mornings co-host.

Crystal, who is among those being feted at the 46th annual Kennedy Center Honors, says When Harry Met Sally… has grown in importance as new generations discover it.

“It’s actually more important as time goes by, because people fall in love every day. People fall out of love every day. People find each other, they lose each other every day. And new generations keep finding When Harry Met Sally… They keep discovering it, and we’re forever young in that movie. And we represent them. They relate to us,” said Crystal.
