Billie Eilish Wore an Unusual Accessory to a Knicks Game and Some Fans Have Questions

Billie Eilish’s Knicks game look included an unusual accessory—a pair of headphones worn around her neck—which has sparked some light roasting and some conspiracy theorizing.

The 22-year-old singer-songwriter was photographed sitting courtside at a New York Knicks game on May 14, alongside her childhood best friend Zoe Donahoe. Eilish wore a plaid-on-plaid-on-plaid shorts and button-up ensemble, complete with plaid baseball cap, her signature librarian-coded glasses, and what appear to be a set of Bose noise-canceling headphones where a necklace would’ve been more likely.

On social media some users lightly clowned the singer for the headphones, with one X user wondering, “Who wears headphones to a basketball game?”

“The glasses. grills. headphones. omg,” posted another user. On TikTok, someone commented, “Are those giant headphone necessary?”

But certain Eilish stans clocked that these appear to be the Bose x Steve Lacy headphones, and Eilish and Lacy were once rumored to be dating. “The steve lacy bose headphones well yes,” commented one X user. “Her having on Steve lacy’s headphones this is serious,” wrote another. To be clear, the Eilish and Lacy dating rumors all appear to be from certain fan accounts on TikTok and elsewhere, and there’s no serious indication that they are anything other than friends.

Maybe Billie Eilish’s Knicks game ’fit just didn’t look right to her without the headphones. Sometimes it’s for the fashion, and nothing more.
