Billie Eilish Disses Trump in Another Honest Interview

Billie Eilish isn't your basic 18 year old hanging out in her college dorm, and turning up at 3 am. Ironically she isnt your quintessential pop star either. Or is she? Weird and angsty seems to be in fashion. Some pioneers of this sad revolution are OG artists like Lana Del Rey, FKA Twigs, Lorde, and The Weeknd. To be utterly honest what Billie is bringing this generation isn't original by a long shot. In fact it's a bit overdone. In many ways Billie just seems like a repackaged version of all those artists melded together into this generations “I’m not like other girls” symbol. Her breaking into the mainstream is what will be the demise of her career. If she doesn't switch up in a more authentic manner she might just fade into white noise like many before her.

Since she is so young and still could be searching for herself through the medium of music and song writing she could stand a chance in this industry. It’s a lot easier to create a hit that takes over for a few months. It is another thing to be consistent and reinvent yourself time and again. To be a Rihanna or Beyonce is almost impossible in terms of maintaining such power for so long. Most singers just lose their way with the same fan base that used to worship them. Ultimately nothing is promised in the entertainment industry. What may seem set in stone today could be gone tomorrow.

Is Billie Eilish’s career going to fall off next week? Absolutely not. But a lot of things don't progress like that. In reality slowly but surely opinions can change and our taste collectively can morph into the search for the next big thing. For her sophomore album Billie should do the unexpected in a contained way. Doing this alone will keep her fans satisfied without freaking out everyone else who happens to be listening to her music. With her being nominated for the Best New Artist Grammy award this year in itself could be a sign of where her career leads. The legend when it comes to the Grammys is that winning the best new artist award could be poison for a singers trajectory in the business. So if Billie takes that L it could actually be a W. Some losses at the end of the day are wins in disguise. At the end of the day, Billie and her decisions alone will be what determines whether she makes it or not.
