Billie Eilish Shades Lady Gaga's Meat Dress & Twitter Is In No Mood

Billie Eilish has shaded Lady Gaga's iconic meat dress and Twitter is having trouble digesting it. The 17-year-old singing sensation didn't need too many words to voice her disapproval for Gaga's 2010 MTV VMAs look: "Yikes" was all Billie said as she and brother Finneas talked Grammy Awards fashion.

One word was enough.

The video wasn't an official one. A Lady Gaga fan account posted the now-deleted footage of the slouchy-clad songstress giving Gaga a bit of a diss- and yes, Cosmopolitan did note that the fan account got its dates wrong. The 2011 date does, in fact, refer to Gaga's 2010 appearance.

Twitter Erupts

#BillieEilishIsOverParty was used by the fan account posting the video, appearing to trend as an overall hashtag in no time.

Fans had their thoughts.

“#BillieEilishisoverparty can not believe she even ATTEMPTED to insult this complete serve……. LITTLE MONSTERS PUT YOUR PAWS UP RAWR XX,” a fan tweeted.

“Lady Gaga, the second most awarded women alive in music after Beyonce with 304+ awards, has wore a meat dress almost a decade ago. #Vogue loved it, @TheEllenShow most popular tv show loved it, @drake rapper with 181 award winner loved it. Who f*ck is she. #BillieEilishIsOverParty,” another added.

It's Twitter, Though. Stuff Works Both Ways.

As it turns out, Twitter wasn't being one-sided (what else is new?).

“I swear to god, I hate cancel culture. Y’all are really trying to cancel a 17 year old girl for saying she doesn’t like a dress," was one comment documented by Cosmopolitan.

“Y’all are just sad for trying to cancel a 17 year old VEGAN for her own opinions/beliefs.Like you think Gaga was bothered by all the opinions back then, let alone now?” was another.

"Dude I've been a Gaga fan since the beginning. & even I'm not mad at Billie Eilish. Y'all are just sad for trying to cancel a 17 year old VEGAN for her own opinions/beliefs," one user added.

At 17, What Does Billie Know About Awards Fashion? (A Fair Amount, Actually)

Yes, she's only 17. Kids learn fast these days, though. As it turns out, Eilish is fairly well-versed in all things Grammy fashion. The singer's recent Variety interview saw her speak of just this after being asked how it felt being nominated for six Grammy awards.

“It’s an honor, it is an honor. I grew up watching the GRAMMYs, we all did. I used to judge all the girls’ dresses. That’s all I did. I barely paid attention to the music. It’s very cool to be in the world of being nominated at all,” Eilish responded.

Gaga's Thoughts On The Meat Dress?

The "Bad Romance" singer did speak out following her statement 2010 appearance. As Billboard reports, Gaga appeared on The Ellen Show.

"It's certainly no disrespect to anyone that's vegan or vegetarian," she told DeGeneres (yes, Ellen is vegan).

"As you know, I'm the most judgment-free human being on the Earth. It has many interpretations, but for me this evening it's [saying], 'If we don't stand up for what we believe in, if we don't fight for our rights, pretty soon we're going to have as much rights as the meat on our bones,'" Gaga added.

Eilish is also vegan.

Eilish: Overtaking Gaga? It Looks Like It

Billie Eilish seems to be overtaking everyone right now. Cardi B may be a great example of Insta-following gone crazy in no time, but the "Bodak Yellow" rapper is in her mid-twenties. Billie is just 17.

Eilish herself expressed shock in her "One Year Apart" Vanity Fair feature just recently. 43.9 million Instagram followers at 17 will do that. Meanwhile, Gaga has 38.4 million followers at the age of 33.

Eilish's veganism isn't the world's biggest talking point, but it does render the teen with one more "cool factor" to her name. She joins other famous vegans including Ariana Grande and Miley Cyrus.
