Eilish and her brother Finneas are nominated for best original song at this year's Oscars

Billie Eilish may have begged the question of When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? in 2019 — but when she falls asleep, she dreams of Christian Bale.

In a Friday interview with Amelia Dimoldenberg for an Oscars Nominees 'Pre-Luncheon' Luncheon, the "Bad Guy" singer revealed the dream that motivated her to breakup with her boyfriend.

At one point in the conversation, Dimoldenberg, 30, who hosts the YouTube show Chicken Shop Date, asked Eilish and her brother Finneas (born Finneas O'Connell) if Cillian Murphy was the inspiration behind their 2016 track "Ocean Eyes."

The singer/songwriter/producer, 26, jokingly said he "probably" wrote the song about him and he's a big fan of his "eyes" in Dunkirk. Then, the "Happier Than Ever" singer, 22, stepped in and said "Batman is the one though."

Dimoldenberg asked Eilish if her favorite superhero was Batman and she responded, "I don't really know much about superheroes."

"I got to be real," Eilish added. "A couple years ago I had a dream about Christian Bale and it was at a little cafe in the sunlight, and it made me realize that I had to breakup with my boyfriend."

Finneas burst into laughter after her comment, and Dimoldenberg's mouth dropped in shock.

"I woke up and I came to my senses," she said as the host added, "It's over."

The "Hostage" artist did not reveal who the boyfriend was but she was last linked to The Neighbourhood's frontman Jesse Rutherford. They were first linked in October 2022 and her rep confirmed to PEOPLE in May 2023 that the couple had broken up. Before Rutherford, she dated Matthew Tyler Vorce.

Eilish and O'Connell are nominated for best original song at this year's Oscars ceremony for "What Was I Made For?," which was written for the Barbie soundtrack.

Elsewhere in the conversation with Dimoldenberg, she asked Eilish if she's "figured out" the big question of "what was I made for?"

"I don't know man, I'm not sure," the Grammy-winner said. "Have you thought about it for yourself?"

The host responded, "Well, I was listening to the lyrics again yesterday and you say 'I'm trying.' Well, maybe it's just about trying. Thoughts?"

O'Connell then said that he thinks "that's the truth" and it's about "seeing what you enjoy and what makes you miserable."
