Billie Eilish had everyone questioning their existence on Sunday with her Grammy Awards performance of “What Was I Made For?,” arguably the saddest part of this year’s ceremony. (No offense, “In Memoriam” segment. You’ll always be a tearjerker.)

Nominated for five Grammys, including Song and Record of the Year, the heartbreaking ballad was written by Eilish and brother Finneas O’Connell for a pivotal moment in the Barbie movie. The performance was introduced by host Trevor Noah, who applauded the duo’s parents for producing Grammy gold.

All told, “What Was I Made For?” was nominated in five separate categories: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Song Written for Visual Media and Best Music Video.

Prior to this year’s ceremony, Eilish had already won seven Grammys, beginning in 2020 with Best New Artist; Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?; and Record and Song of the Year for “Bad Guy.” She then took home Record of the Year for “Everything I Wanted” and Best Song Written for Visual Media for “No Time to Die” in 2021. In addition to these wins, Eilish has also received 12 other nominations.

And this was just one of several highly anticipated performances at this year’s Grammys. Additional performers include Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, SZA, Billy Joel, Burna Boy, 21 Savage, Brandy Norwood, Dua Lipa, Joni Mitchell, Brandi Carlile, Luke Combs, Tracy Chapman and U2.
