Billie Eilish Paired Four Different Plaid Pieces at a Basketball Game — See Photos

When you think plaid, you probably think of cozy fall and winter outfits, but Billie Eilish is here to show you that the pattern works just as well for warmer weather. The Hit Me Hard and Soft musician wore not one but four different plaid prints for a basketball game, incorporating the pattern into her signature silhouette.

Billie Eilish attended the New York Knicks versus Indiana Pacers game at Madison Square Garden on May 14, wearing a very typical Billie look of oversized long shorts, a button-down shirt layered over a long-sleeved white tee, and sneakers. The shorts were a blue and dark gray plaid pattern, while her shirt featured shades of taupe and black. To top it all off, she added another piece of plaid, a gray and black hat, to the ensemble, proving that clashing patterns can work together.

And that's not all! Eilish actually incorporated another pattern into her basketball game 'fit with a pair of argyle socks, which she wore pulled up to mid-calf. So that brings the total paid count to four. Besides the hat, she styled the outfit with her glasses and a pair of headphones around her neck, plus a few necklaces and rings.

Though the two outfits have extremely different vibes, this plaid-on-plaid-on-plaid look reminded us a bit of Eilish's 2024 Oscars outfit, which was built upon a black tweed Chanel skirt styled with a white shirt, jacket, and high socks. If that look is the studious older sister, the basketball game ensemble is her rebellious younger sibling. (Eilish also wore a plaid coat inspired by "Poodle Parade" Barbie at the Grammy Awards.)

Eilish's new album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, drops on May 17, and she'll embark on a world tour in fall 2024. So far the aesthetic seems to be a lot of deep blue and bright orange, so we can't wait to see what she wears onstage come September. More plaid? It's possible!
