Billie Eilish is bringing horny on main to whole new levels — namely, to the cover of Rolling Stone.

In a wide-ranging new interview with the music magazine, Eilish opened up about everything from her forthcoming new album to her sexuality. Earlier this month, the singer announced that she would be releasing her third album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, on May 17. Eilish won’t be releasing any singles ahead of the album drop, but at Coachella, she did tease a snippet of one particularly raunchy song, “Lunch,” which is an ode to going down on a girl.

In the Rolling Stone interview, Eilish said that the song “was actually part of what helped me become who I am.” She told the magazine that she wrote some of it before she had been with a woman, though she’s “been in love with girls for my whole life.” “But I just didn’t understand — until, last year, I realized I wanted my face in a vagina,” she said. However, Eilish also expressed some frustration about her sexuality becoming a topic of discussion, as she “was never planning on talking about my sexuality ever in a million years.”

“The whole world suddenly decided who I was, and I didn’t get to say anything or control any of it,” the singer said to Rolling Stone. “Nobody should be pressured into being one thing or the other, and I think that there’s a lot of wanting labels all over the place. Dude, I’ve known people that don’t know their sexuality, or feel comfortable with it, until they’re in their forties, fifties, sixties. It takes a while to find yourself, and I think it’s really unfair, the way that the internet bullies you into talking about who you are and what you are.”

Eilish wasn’t afraid to get extremely candid about her sexuality in other ways, though. When Rolling Stone asked her what she does to decompress, she responded, “Sex,” which she said is “literally my favorite topic.”

“People are so uncomfortable talking about it, and weirded out when women are very comfortable in their sexuality and communicative in it,” she said. “I think it’s such a frowned-upon thing to talk about, and I think that should change.”

Beyond partnered sex, Eilish also sang the praises of masturbation, which she said is “an enormous, enormous part of my life, and a huge, huge help for me.” In a phrase that belongs on a motivational poster, she added, “People should be jerking it, man.” Truer words were never spoken. The singer also gave her tips for masturbating in front of a mirror, which she said was both “hot” and allows her to “have such a raw, deep connection to myself and my body, and have a love for my body that I have not really ever had.” Eilish recommended looking in the mirror and thinking, “I look really good right now,” adjusting the lighting, wearing specific outfits, and shifting into different positions while practicing ~ self-love ~.

In yet another eminently quotable moment, Eilish added, “I should have a Ph.D. in masturbation.”

The singer and her brother FINNEAS wowed with a live performance of the *Barbie* ballad.

The singer has been alluding to her attraction to women for years, but it’s only recently that she’s started speaking about it in explicit terms. In a November interview with Variety, Eilish said that she was “physically attracted to” and “so intimidated by” women, marking the first time she spoke about her sexuality publicly. In that same interview, the singer also discussed her thorny relationship with people sexualizing her, saying that she “wasn’t strong enough and secure enough to show” her body, which was why she adopted her former uniform of oversized clothing.

Considering that, it’s awesome to see Eilish feel comfortable enough to talk about her sexuality on her own terms, and no one else’s.
