Billboard Dance Chart Upstarts: Audien & Max, Louis The Child, Cristian Poow & Glovibes

Audien & Max, "One More Weekend"

Connecticut-based DJ Audien (real name Nate Rathbun) teams with New York singer Max (Max Schneider) on "One More Weekend," new at No. 34 on Dance/Mix Show Airplay. It's the fourth chart hit for Audien (who achieved two No. 1s on Dance Club Songs in 2015) and the first for Max. Airplay leaders include core-dance outlets WFLZ-HD Tampa, Florida (an iHeartRadio Evolution affiliate), Music Choice's Dance/EDM channel and WPTY (Party 105) Nassau, New York. The track also collected 345,000 U.S. streams in the tracking week, according to Nielsen Music.

Louis the Child featuring Chelsea Cutler, "Slow Down Love"

Chicago-based DJ duo Louis the Child (Robby Hauldren and Freddy Kennett) scores its fourth entry on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs with "Slow Down Love," featuring singer Chelsea Cutler, who earns her first (No. 43). The track, which scored 666,000 domestic streams in the tracking week, was released March 24 on Louis' Love Is Alive EP (which hit No. 6 on Dance/Electronic Album Sales). The duo, perhaps now best known as co-producers of mega-smash "Closer," by The Chainsmokers featuring Halsey, reached a No. 30 best as a billed artist on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs in October with "Fire," featuring Evalyn.

Cristian Poow & Glovibes, "Shake Ur Bumpa"

Argentinian tech house DJ Cristian Poow teams with Los Angeles-based Italian DJ Glovibes (real name Leonardo Abbate) on "Shake Ur Bumpa," up 48-40 in its second frame on Dance Club Songs. Although Poow is mainly known in the U.S. as a remixer for the likes of Katy Perry, Pet Shop Boys, Jonas Blue and more, "Shake" marks his first appearance on a Billboard chart as an artist.

For Glovibes, the track is his third chart hit; his last two hit the top 10, including "Watch Out" (by Glovibes & Gary Caos) in March. Remixes from Lambert & Handle, Gus Bonani and The Perry Twins, among others, have carried the intercontinental DJ team's "Bumpa" up the chart.

Poow -- who, at less than 30 years of age, is also a label owner (DBeatzion Records), professor and lecturer in the Music School of Buenos Aires, and a psychology student -- tells Billboard of "Bumpa": "When the time came to plan this out with Glovibes, we both made sure that this was going to be a smashing house track. It had to be powerful, driving and right-in-your-face, with the definitive melody that you hear as a kind of percussion. Being an Argentinian breaking on Billboard is more than an achievement. There are so many talents out there waiting for their moment and when it's all yours you think it's like the Olympics, representing your country as a whole.

"I couldn't be happier to see my name on the American Billboard Dance Club Songs chart. This serves as a starting point for bigger goals."
