Bill Murray and ‘Jungle Book’ Co-Star Sing ‘The Bare Necessities’

Sometimes in life you just need the bare necessities. Bill Murray and his The Jungle Book co-star Neel Sethi were on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where they performed the film’s classic song “The Bare Necessities.” The pair claims they didn’t rehearse the number beforehand, but the duo got through the song pretty smoothly. The audience was immediately onboard, and the band played a lovely rendition of the song.

The song was created by Terry Gilkyson for the 1967 animated version of the musical, which the current film is based on. The performance got an extra hand when it came to aesthetics — there were a couple of bears dancing in the background. Murray and Sethi even took time to include the part of the song where some ants get chomped up (but aren’t as bad as they look). They had quite the time. Here’s to hoping that chemistry translates onscreen when The Jungle Book comes out April 15.
