Bill Clinton Reveals His Favorite Mid-'90s Sci-Fi Flick

Sure, he was once the leader of the free world, but President Bill Clinton isn’t above going all geeky in a park bathroom.

Just ask Ethan Hawke.

“I was waiting in line to pee at Shakespeare in the Park and was standing behind Bill Clinton—which was already weird, waiting in line to pee behind Bill Clinton,” the Boyhood star told The Daily Beast in a new interview. “So, we go to the urinals and he leans over to me and whispers, ‘I loved Gattaca.’ How crazy is that!?”

Hawke costarred with this future wife (and future ex-wife) Uma Thurman in the 1996 sci-fi drama about genetics, class, and perfect-looking human beings. And while the movie’s great, when it came to Hawke oeuvre, we would have thought Clinton was more into The Newton Boys; after all, according to this old White House website, his favorite film is High Noon, which he’s seen 25 or 30 times. But hey, credit to the president for liking smart sci-fi.
