Bikefest headliners announced — who's playing Leesburg's big fest?

Maggie Lyden, city of Leesburg's special events manager, notified us today that the city has locked in the headliners for Bikefest 2024.

Attended by around 100,000 bikers from across the nation, Leesburg's cycle-palooza takes over the city's downtown downtown historic district April 26-28.

Main Street will be closed off to pedestrians as vendors and activities accommodate attendees. Typically, dozens of concerts take place throughout the three days on outdoor stages, along with bike shows and around 100 vendors.

Here are the headliners just announced:

Though they share their name with a famous boxer, Sugar Ray has become a household name in their own right, outranking both Leonard and Robinson in Google search results, thanks in large part to the group's highly visible frontman, Mark McGrath, who's moonlighted as an actor and was the subject of a death hoax around a decade ago.

Though they had their heyday in the 1990s, their sound transcends generations and musical tastes. You hear them on the radio, TV commercials and their sunny vibe resonate with people who love the "salt life."

The Newport Beach, California band formed in 1997. They played heavier funk metal and nu metal in 1997 until they got record-label attention. "Fly," which held the No. 1 spot on the US Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart for four consecutive weeks and spent a total of eight weeks at No. 1 The song's success led the band to a shift to radio-friendly pop sound with singles like "Every Morning" and "Someday."

Sugar Ray has released six studio albums, two compilation albums, and nineteen singles.
