Big Freedia to perform with Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — New Orleans bounce artist Big Freedia is taking the stage with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra this May.

Big Freedia and the LPO will perform a mashup of “the city’s highly popular Bounce music with the stimulating sounds of a full orchestra” at the Orpheum Theater on May 2.

According to a news release, the collaboration is part of an initiative that highlights and supports local artists, musicians and composers.

The performance will be an encore for last season’s sold-out performance.

Big Freedia is known for songs “Duffy,” “NO Bounce” and “Gin in my System.”
