The 25th season of the hit game show "Big Brother" premiered August 2, with a slate of new games and new house theme, the "Big Brother Multiverse."

After getting their "Big Brother" keys and saying farewell to their families, 16 houseguests arrived at the Big Brother house on the first episode.

Host Julie Chen Moonves welcomed them and teased a mysterious 17th guest, later revealed as "Survivor: Game Changers" cast member and mother of one of the current big brother contestants, Cirie Fields.

Three of those competitors hail from right here in Florida. Here is a bit about them.

You can catch the next episodes of Big Brother on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET and live on Thursday at 9 p.m., all on CBS.

Kirsten Elwin from Orlando, Florida

Kirsten Elwin, 25, is from Orlando, Florida by way of Dominica and currently lives in Houston working as a molecular biologist.

She calls herself a "baddie with brains," and a "girls' girl," hoping for an all-female final-two including herself.

But her first challenge on the Season 25 premiere was off to a bad start. She competed using a rowing contraption to move a giant boot behind her in order to kick herself in the butt. She was the last one to get to 100 hits and was nominated for eviction.

Luke Valentine from Coral Springs, Florida

Valentine thinks the other houseguests will assume he is a dumb jock, but really he is a nerd. The 30-year-old is a self-proclaimed "starving artist," working as an illustrator on commission.

He looked like he was going to lose his "Scary-verse mini-competition" on the Season 25 premiere when he was hanging on one hand while a big animatronic hand tried to pull him into the backstage "Nether Region."

Instead, houseguest Cory let go first.

Cory lost his mini-challenge and left the premiere nominated for eviction.

The 21-year-old college student is younger than the show itself, but considers himself a super-fan.

He is betting his award-winning public speaking skills and athleticism from karate will take him far in the competition.
