The 'Big Brother' finale was shocking, but not because of who won

Kaycee Clark is officially the winner of Big Brother Season 20 and its $500,000 prize!

By a vote of 5 to 4, which ironically came down to Bayleigh Dayton’s vote, Tyler Crispen became the runner-up, but was also announced as this year’s “America’s Favorite Houseguest,” which earned him a total of $75,000.

However, Clark and Crispen weren’t the only ones who scored big Wednesday night, because there was a surprise proposal!

When host Julie Chen took time to grill this season’s three showmances, Chen asked Dayton, “What’s it like to see Swaggy after so much time apart?” Dayton blushed and answered, “He’s beautiful. Literally obsessed.” And when Chen asked Chris “Swaggy C” Williams what it was like seeing Dayton after all of their time apart, Swaggy told Chen, “I’m still very much in love with Bayleigh, a hundred percent.” Swaggy then turned to Dayton and said, “There’s been a lot of stuff that’s been going on in the real world that you haven’t known, that I went to your parents’ wedding anniversary. I spent a lot of time with them. I played golf with your dad every single weekend. There is a lot of stuff I want to tell you. I’d rather tell you standing up than way across the stage.” So, Swaggy got out of his seat and walked across the stage, which immediately turned everyone’s heads.

Swaggy then took Dayton’s hands and asked her, “Remember on day 10 I did this exact same gesture. And you yelled at me because you said, ‘You’re not a man. Take charge. If you want something, be a man and stand up.’ Do you remember that? So, I asked you to be my girlfriend, and you said yeah. Sitting at home and watch you tell millions around the world how much you loved me and wanted to be with me forever, made me realize that girlfriend wasn’t enough, honestly.” Dayton then exclaimed, “Shut up!” as Swaggy got down on one knee and proposed to Dayton by saying, “In front of millions around the the world, I really don’t care about any girl in the world. I want you and only you. And I don’t really know what my future holds, but I do know I want you in it. So, Bayleigh Amethyst Dayton, will you marry me?” Dayton then jumped up and down yelling “Yes, yes, yes!” and everyone cheered for the newly engaged houseguests.

Though Dayton and Swaggy have been apart, with no communication, for 76 days, they are still very much in love with each other. Swaggy was the second houseguest to be evicted, on day 23, which means Swaggy and Bayleigh hung out for only 23 days, and Twitter had a field day. Almost everyone tweeted things like:

Congratulations, Swayleigh. But back to what should be the biggest moment of the night — Kaycee Clark won Big Brother! Cue Clark’s iconic #BB20 tagline: Let’s Go!

The Big Brother season finale aired Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. on CBS.
