Moviegoers are pumped for what has become the most anticipated weekend of the year.
The release of “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” is not so much marked as a battle between the two films, but more as a double feature event, which has even earned its own name in social media: “Barbenheimer.”
Director Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” stars Margot Robbie (“I, Tonya,” “Bombshell”), Ryan Gosling (“La La Land,” “Half Nelson”) and has a 114-minute runtime.
“To live in Barbie Land is to be a perfect being in a perfect place. Unless you have a full-on existential crisis. Or you’re a Ken,” the movie’s synopsis reads on its website.
“Oppenheimer,” directed by Christopher Nolan, is a three-hour biopic of American physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, who is known for his involvement in the Manhattan Project of 1945 and the creation of the atomic bomb.
