BidenJam Now In Effect As VP Arrives For Secret Peter Chernin Hosted Fundraiser

UPDATE, 4:06 PM: Air Force Two had arrived at LAX, Vice-President Joe Biden is in town and that means that the wide-spread security road closures are now in effect on the Westside of L.A.

The VP is in the City of Angels for a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee fundraiser at a secret location – well, secret unless you read Deadline, who revealed earlier today that the big ticket event is at long time Dems supporter Peter Chernin and his wife Megan’s Santa Monica place.

If you haven’t gotten in the car and out of the area already, it might be a long drive home tonight as the LAPD and Secret Service closures (see full list of road closures below) last for most of the evening and occur again early tomorrow when Biden leaves town to head back to D.C. As a side note, Hillary Clinton is also in town for her last trip to the Hollywood ATM before the election – we hear the VPOTUS and the former FLOTUS will not be meeting up as they hover up Tinseltown cash.

PREVIOUSLY, 11:03 AM, EXCLUSIVE: The details of Vice-President Joe Biden’s latest fundraising visit to Los Angeles today have been treated like a state secret but I can tell you that Peter Chernin and his wife Megan are hosting the deep pocket 7 PM shindig. All the White House would say of Thursday’s fundraiser is that “the Vice President will deliver remarks at a DCCC event” at “a private residence” after flying into town from campaigning for Hillary Clinton in Las Vegas earlier today.

The event for Democratic Congressional candidates at the former Fox executive and Chernin Entertainment CEO’s Westside pad comes at exactly the same time that Clinton is in town for a pricey fundraiser of her own. Now, even though she is a former First Lady, Clinton doesn’t yet get the massive security detail that the Veep does. Which means if you don’t want to be caught in traffic for hours and hours on the way home from work tonight, check out the LAPD and Secret Service road closures going into affect at 4 PM today around LAX , parts of Santa Monica, UCLA and Brentwood for Biden’s overnight visit (see full list of Biden road closures below).

You also might want to plan ahead for the trip to the office tomorrow morning as the Veep is heading out of town around 6 AM.

First revealed by Deadline last week, the Clinton “final dinner” with her Hollywood donors is at the Beverly Hills home of 2024 Olympics bid chair Casey Wasserman and wife Laura. The ex-Secretary of State’s biggest donors Haim Saban and spouse Cheryl and Jeffrey Katzenberg and wife Marilyn are co-hosting the $100,000 top ticket Hillary Victory Fund event along with the Wassermans. Legendary founder Thomas Tull and wife Alba, Facebook backer Sean Parker and wife Alexandra and Chris and Crystal Sacca are also co-hosts for the Clinton event, which feature a performance by Elton John

Speaking of performance, you can pretty sure that both Biden and Clinton will be talking tonight about Donald Trump’s performance in the second Presidential debate on October 9. Undoutedly the two will individually be discussing the leaked lewd Access Hollywood tape from 2005 with the then Apprentice host and Billy Bush demeaning women and the latest groping scandals to be alleged against the GOP candidate. Last night on Late Night With Seth Meyers, with SLOTUS Dr. Jill Biden, the VP called Trump’s actions “outrageous.” In Sin City today, Biden once again said Trump’s comment were “the textbook definition of sexual assault.”

Past hosts of fundraisers for President Barack Obama and, as recently as on August 22, Clinton too, the Chernins have also been long time supporters of Democratic Senate and Congressional committees raising money for candidates across the country for the party. To that end, as well as VP Biden, House Minority leader and former Speaker Nancy Pelosi will be in attendance at the Chernin’s tonight.

Though both Biden, who was last here on September 9 for the Stand Up To Cancer TV special, and Clinton are in LA tonight hitting the Hollywood ATM, there are no plans for the two to cross pollenate each other’s events or meet up.
