While every member of the BeyHive has Beychella permanently etched into their minds, with its nods to the culture of HBCUs and surprise reunion with her Destiny’s Child bandmates, Queen Bey’s earliest festival sets date back to the dawn of her career as a solo superstar.

In fact, when she took the stage at the 95.8 Capital FM Party in the Park in summer 2003, the Hyde Park concert for the Prince’s Trust took place five months before her debut solo album, Dangerously in Love, would drop later that year. (She was, however, already on her way to dominating the Billboard Hot 100 for the rest of 2003 with pre-release singles “Crazy in Love” and “Baby Boy,” which would go on to reign atop the chart for a combined 17 weeks from July to November.)

Since then, the “Break My Soul” singer has played all over the world, from riding into her hometown’s Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo on horseback in 2004 to headlining the final day of Glastonbury in 2011.

One of the icon’s favorite fests in particular seems to be Global Citizen Festival, founded by the Global Poverty Project with the goal of ending extreme poverty by 2030. Over the years, she’s performed multiple times at the festival’s many iterations in New York City’s Central Park, and even jetted off to Johannesburg, South Africa, in 2018 for its special Mandela: 100 show at FNB Stadium.
